Introducing Burrly Legal, an exquisite 18-piece cylindrical burr that challenges you to disassemble and assemble its intricately machined pieces.

Crafted from the same stock as our Pygmy and Marmoset puzzles it seamlessly complements their design.

Measuring a delightful 45mmx45mm x45mm, this little wonder packs a weighty punch , tipping the scales at hefty 337g or three quarters of a pound.

We owe a massive debt of gratitude to Derek Bosch , whose expertise helped us shape Burrly Legal Let us share the back story behind its creation:

For a long time, we wanted to produce an 18-piece cylindrical burr. Countless designs based on square sticks exist but none could meet our requirements. They all contain visible voids when adapted to a cylindrical form. We knew we need a design comprising solid, honest pieces—no trickery involved, unlike our signature BM series of six-piece burrs.

Months turned into years as our search persisted. We reached out to numerous puzzle designer friends for assistance. Just as we were beginning to accept the impossibility of a solid version, our friend Derek Bosch discovered the solution to this design puzzle. It boasts a sneaky, barely legal complex move, yet the assembly works flawlessly, with each individual piece maintaining its integrity. Take a look at the last picture to see the pieces in detail. Just after Derek, showing the same independent stroke of genius, Girish Sharma discovered a similar design, incorporating the same barely legal move but with a different set of 18 pieces.

To date, only one person has successfully solved this puzzle without tools, while Ali & Steve, despite their best efforts, have failed numerous times. They can only assemble Burrly Legal by using tiny rubber bands to hold the pieces during the initial steps of assembly. Should you choose to embrace the same approach that we have, fear not, as each puzzle comes with a supply of these bands. However, if you manage to conquer Burrly Legal without them, we would love to hear of your triumph.
