We had some time on our hands (yeah right!), so we couldn’t resist an experiment: a miniature edition of Brass Monkey Two — our first joint design and one of our earliest puzzles. You can never say never, but it’s unlikely we’ll be making others in this series at this size.
Like its bigger brother, Brass Monkey Two looks like a standard six-piece burr… but it hides a simple little trick that locks the pieces together.
This version is a half-scale build — meaning every dimension is 50% of the full-size puzzle, giving you a cube that’s noticeably more “pocket friendly”, but still has that solid Two Brass Monkeys feel in the hands. It’s made from the same stick size as our Pygmy and Marmoset designs.
So compared to the full-size version, you’re getting:
-
100% of the puzzling fun
-
50% of the size (in every dimension)
-
41% of the price
-
12.5% of the weight (even we can’t argue with the cube–square law)
Precisely pocket-sized and perfectly portable — a properly playful puzzle for popping in a pocket, packing for a pilgrimage, perching on a pedestal, or proffering as a present. And no we are not taking the p.
